Boscobel House and Gardens: Second Saturdays

On second Saturdays from May through December, Boscobel offers pay-what-you-wish admission to 68 acres of its gardens and grounds, including lush gardens, a Woodland Trail, and Great Lawn overlooking stunning vistas of the Hudson River and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.

Throughout the day, Boscobel guests can enjoy Insider Tours of the Historic House Museum, whose beautiful interiors display a world-class collection of New York Neoclassical furniture. (Tickets range from free for kids ages 4 and under to $18.)

During Bring the Kids! Second Saturdays programs from 9:30am – 11:30am, Museum Educator Lisa DiMarzo leads children and their families on a tour of the Historic House Museum followed by crafts and activities. Each day has a special focus. On May 11, the theme is “Clay Creations.” Miss Lisa brings Hudson Valley history, design, and nature to life in an engaging manner that delights young guests. As one five-year-old participant yelled out during Miss Lisa’s Bring the Kids! Spring Break program, “This is SO much fun!”  (Members: $8 | Not-Yet-Members $12)

At 11:30am, guests of any age can enjoy a 30-minute Landscape and Landmarks Tour. This outdoor, walking tour celebrates Boscobel’s iconic Hudson River site and the preservation efforts that helped save it. Landscape and Landmarks Tours are included with pay-what-you-wish admission, and take place rain or shine.

The Cold Spring Farmers’ Market, which supports local and sustainable farms by providing an outlet for direct sales of agricultural products, will be open on Boscobel’s grounds from 8:30am – 1:30pm every Saturday from May through November 2. (Admission to the market is free.)

“Second Saturdays are an excellent opportunity for anyone to discover and share the best of Boscobel,” says Executive Director Jennifer Carlquist, “There are more ways than ever to experience Hudson Valley beauty and history, right here.”
